8/8 Lions Gate

A Portal of Alignment, Courage & Purpose

There are certain moments in the year that invite us to pause.

To look up.

To listen a little more closely to what is happening within us.

August 8—8/8—is one of those moments in spiritual and numerological traditions. Often called the Lions Gate Portal, it has become a symbolic time for reflection, intention, manifestation, and stepping more fully into our purpose.

The Lions Gate is associated with the Sun in Leo and the appearance of Sirius in the sky. In spiritual traditions, this celestial symbolism is interpreted as a time of heightened energy, awakening, and alignment.

Whether you experience the Lions Gate as a spiritual portal, a meaningful ritual, or simply a beautiful reminder to pause and reflect, the invitation is the same:

Look within. Reconnect with yourself. Decide what you are ready to create next.

Why 8/8?

In numerology, the number 8 is often associated with abundance, power, balance, achievement, and the infinite cycle of growth.

Turn the number 8 on its side, and it becomes the symbol for infinity.

So when we see 8/8, we can use it as a beautiful reminder that life is not a straight line.

We grow.

We release.

We begin again.

We learn.

We become.

And then we begin again.

That is part of the rhythm of being human.

The Lion as a Symbol

The lion brings another layer to the symbolism.

The lion represents courage, strength, confidence, leadership, and the willingness to stand fully in your own presence.

But true power isn’t about dominating others.

It is about becoming secure enough in yourself that you no longer need to diminish anyone else to shine.

That distinction matters.

Because stepping into your power isn’t about becoming someone bigger than everyone around you.

It’s about becoming more fully yourself.

What Are You Ready to Release?

A portal is often imagined as an entrance from one place into another.

So perhaps the most useful question isn’t:

“What do I want to manifest?”

Maybe it’s:

“What do I need to release so I have room to receive what I’m asking for?”

Old stories.

Self-doubt.

Fear of being misunderstood.

Relationships that require you to abandon yourself.

The belief that you have to earn your worth.

The habit of waiting for permission.

Sometimes, creating a new chapter begins with closing the previous one.

Alignment Before Achievement

We often talk about manifesting what we want.

But what if the deeper work is becoming aligned with who we are becoming?

Before asking:

What do I want?

Try asking:

Who am I becoming?

What values do I want to live by?

What kind of relationships do I want to nurture?

How do I want to feel in my own life?

What does peace look like for me?

What does courage look like?

What would it mean to live with greater authenticity?

Those questions take us beyond simply acquiring something new.

They invite us to create a life that actually feels like ours.

Your 8/8 Glimmer

Take a few minutes today.

You don’t need a special ritual.

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

Find a quiet place.

Take a breath.

Put pen to paper.

Write down:

8 things I am grateful for.

8 things I am ready to release.

8 things I want to create.

Then ask yourself:

What is one courageous step I can take toward the person I am becoming?

It doesn’t have to be dramatic.

Send the email.

Take the walk.

Have the conversation.

Rest.

Set the boundary.

Apply for the opportunity.

Start the journal.

Make the appointment.

Create the thing.

Say yes.

Say no.

Begin.

Sometimes the most powerful manifestation is simply taking the next right step.

A Glimmer to Carry With You

You don’t have to become someone else to step into your power.

You don’t have to wait until you’re fearless.

You don’t have to have the entire path mapped out.

You can walk forward with questions.

You can walk forward with uncertainty.

You can walk forward while still becoming.

The gate isn’t a promise that everything will magically change.

It’s an invitation to recognize that you have the power to participate in what comes next.

And perhaps that’s the real Glimmer.

Not waiting for the universe to open a door…

but becoming brave enough to walk through the doors that are already open.

8/8 Affirmation

I step through this new chapter with courage and clarity.

I release what no longer serves me.

I am aligned with my purpose.

I am open to abundance, guidance, love, and possibility.

I trust myself to take the next right step.

I shine my light with love and purpose.

I am becoming more fully myself.

And I trust the journey ahead.

Journal Prompt:

What am I ready to release, receive, and create in this next chapter of my life?

Write it down.

Your future self may be grateful that you did.
