The Night Before We Begin
The Night Before We Begin: Making Room for More Harmony
31 Days of No Junk Food + 7 Days of Digital Detox
Tomorrow, we begin.
Not a diet.
Not a punishment.
Not a test of perfection.
A reset.
For 31 days, we’re going to become more intentional about what we put into our bodies, what we give our attention to, and what we make room for in our lives.
Because sometimes creating more harmony isn’t about adding something new.
Sometimes it’s about releasing what has been taking up too much screen us space.
And that’s where we’re starting this August.
Why We’re Doing This
Food is one part of what nourishes us, but nourishment goes beyond what’s on our plate.
What are we scrolling through?
What are we watching?
What are we listening to?
What are we allowing to occupy our thoughts?
What are we reaching for when we’re tired, stressed, bored, lonely, or overwhelmed?
The Harmony Framework invites us to look at the whole picture:
Mind. Body. Soul. Play.
This August, we’re giving ourselves an opportunity to reset all four.
For the food portion of the challenge, the goal isn’t perfection or fear around food. It’s creating more space for whole, nourishing foods and becoming more intentional about foods and beverages that are higher in added sugars, saturated fat, and sodium. Current U.S. nutrition guidance emphasizes nutritious, minimally processed choices and a varied eating pattern that includes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, protein foods, and healthy fats.
We’re not trying to become “perfect eaters.”
We’re practicing awareness.
And Then There’s Our First 7 Days…
The Digital Detox
For the first seven days of August, we’re adding another layer:
A 7-Day Digital Detox.
This means intentionally reducing the digital noise that can constantly pull our attention away from ourselves.
We’re looking at:
📱 Phones
⌚ Wearables
📲 Social media
🛒 Online shopping and impulse purchases
💻 Unnecessary screen time
The goal isn’t to disappear from modern life.
It’s to become more intentional about where our attention goes.
And there may be a physical benefit to creating some distance from screens, particularly at night. Screen exposure and stimulating digital content can make it harder to wind down and may interfere with sleep timing and quality.
So for seven days, we’re asking:
What happens when I stop constantly consuming… and start noticing?
We’re Making Room
Think about a closet you’ve been meaning to clean.
You don’t necessarily need another closet.
You need to make space.
The same can be true in our lives.
When we release some of the foods, habits, purchases, scrolling, noise, and distractions that no longer feel aligned, we create room for something else.
More presence.
More energy.
More connection.
More creativity.
More rest.
More intentional choices.
More you.
That’s the heart of this challenge.
We’re not focused only on what we’re giving up.
We’re paying attention to what we’re creating room for.
The First Night Matters
Tonight isn’t about making yourself anxious about tomorrow.
It’s simply about preparing.
Look around your kitchen.
Think about what you’ll eat tomorrow.
Fill your water bottle.
Choose a few nourishing foods you actually enjoy.
Put the phone down a little earlier.
Turn off unnecessary notifications.
Decide what you want this month to feel like.
And perhaps most importantly:
Give yourself a reason.
Not a punishment.
A reason.
Maybe you want more energy.
Maybe you want to feel more present.
Maybe you’re tired of feeling controlled by cravings or scrolling.
Maybe you want to reconnect with yourself.
Maybe you’re simply curious about what happens when you make different choices for 31 days.
Whatever your reason is, write it down.
Your August Intention
Complete this sentence:
“This August, I’m making room for __________.”
More peace?
More energy?
More confidence?
More connection?
More creativity?
More joy?
Let that become your anchor.
Remember: This Is Not About Perfection
There may be a day when you make a choice you didn’t plan to make.
That’s okay.
One meal doesn’t define your month.
One scroll doesn’t erase your digital detox.
One difficult day doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
Notice it.
Learn from it.
Return to your intention.
Begin again.
That’s the practice.
The Harmony Framework
🧠 Mind
Become aware of what you’re consuming mentally and digitally.
💚 Body
Nourish, hydrate, move, rest, and listen to your body.
💜 Soul
Reconnect with what gives your life meaning and peace.
💛 Play
Leave room for laughter, creativity, connection, and joy.
This is why we’re doing both challenges together.
Because what we consume isn’t limited to food.
We are constantly consuming information, images, opinions, entertainment, advertisements, notifications, and experiences.
This month, we’re becoming more selective about what we allow in.
Tomorrow We Begin
31 days.
7 days of digital detox.
One community.
One intentional choice at a time.
We’re not trying to become someone completely different.
We’re creating enough space to reconnect with who we already are.
Reset. Refuel. Reclaim.
And perhaps, somewhere along the way, we’ll discover that what we were really hungry for wasn’t another snack, another purchase, or another scroll.
Maybe we were hungry for ourselves.
Are you in?
Comment “I’m in” and tell us what you’re making room for this August. 🌿
And remember:
You are more powerful than you know.
A gentle note
