Three Questions That Can Change How You Experience Your Life
Sometimes we look for happiness in complicated places.
We think we need a new job, a new relationship, more money, more success, a different body, or some major life transformation.
But sometimes the better questions are much simpler.
What am I working on—and why?
Who am I spending time with—and why?
How well am I treating my body—and why?
These three questions can become powerful checkpoints for understanding whether the life we’re creating actually reflects the life we want.
They aren’t a formula for happiness.
They’re an invitation to become more aware.
And awareness creates choice.
1. What Am I Working On—and Why?
We are all working toward something.
A career goal.
A relationship.
A healthier body.
Financial stability.
Personal growth.
Healing.
But here’s the important question:
Why?
Are you pursuing this because it genuinely matters to you?
Or because you feel pressure to prove something?
Are you building a life that feels meaningful—or simply checking boxes that you were taught should make you successful?
Sometimes the goal isn’t the problem.
The motivation behind the goal is.
Take a moment and ask yourself:
Would I still want this if nobody else could see it?
That question can reveal a lot.
2. Who Am I Spending Time With—and Why?
The people around us matter.
Our relationships can influence our sense of belonging, stress, confidence, habits, and overall well-being. Research on social connection consistently points to meaningful relationships as an important part of health and resilience.
So ask yourself:
Who gets access to me?
Who makes you feel safe enough to be yourself?
Who celebrates your growth?
Who challenges you in healthy ways?
Who leaves you energized?
And, just as importantly:
Who consistently leaves you feeling small, anxious, exhausted, or disconnected from yourself?
This isn’t about judging people.
It’s about becoming aware of your relationships.
You don’t have to hate someone to recognize that a relationship no longer fits the life you’re building.
Sometimes growth changes who we spend our time with.
3. How Well Am I Treating My Body—and Why?
Your body is the place you experience your entire life.
And yet it’s often the thing we criticize the most.
We push it.
Ignore it.
Compare it.
Punish it.
Then wonder why we feel disconnected from ourselves.
Instead, try a different question:
How am I treating my body today?
Are you getting enough rest?
Are you nourishing yourself?
Are you moving?
Are you drinking enough water?
Are you listening when your body says it needs a break?
Are you treating your body like an obstacle to overcome—or a partner to care for?
You don’t have to love every part of your body every day.
But you can learn to respect it.
That is a powerful beginning.
The Harmony Connection
These three questions touch every part of the Harmony Framework.
🧠 Mind — What am I thinking about, pursuing, and believing?
💚 Body — How am I caring for the body carrying me through this life?
💜 Soul — What gives my life meaning and connection?
💛 Play — Am I leaving room for joy, curiosity, laughter, and experiences that make life feel alive?
When these areas begin moving in the same direction, life can feel less fragmented.
You don’t necessarily need a completely different life.
You may simply need greater alignment within the life you already have.
Your Harmony Practice
Take five quiet minutes today.
Write down your answers to these three questions:
What am I working on—and why?
Who am I spending time with—and why?
How well am I treating my body—and why?
Don’t judge your answers.
Just notice them.
Awareness isn’t about finding the “right” answer.
It’s about becoming honest enough to recognize what may need your attention.
Sometimes the first step toward a happier life isn’t changing everything.
It’s becoming aware of what you’re already choosing.
Awareness creates the path.
