Two Days to Go!
Plan Today, Prepare Tonight, Begin Tomorrow
31 Days of No Junk Food + 7-Day Digital Detox
“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”
Two days from now, we begin.
But the real beginning isn’t August 1st.
It starts today.
The most successful changes usually don’t begin with motivation alone. They begin with preparation.
Before we ask ourselves to make different choices, we need to create an environment that makes those choices easier.
That’s what these next two days are for.
We’re getting ready to spend 31 days being more intentional about what we eat while also beginning a 7-Day Digital Detox designed to help us step back from unnecessary digital noise.
This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about creating space.
Space for better choices.
Space for clearer thinking.
Space for rest.
Space for presence.
Space for ourselves.
Why Planning Matters
We often make our hardest choices when we’re already tired, hungry, stressed, distracted, or overwhelmed.
That’s when convenience wins.
The drive-through.
The impulse purchase.
The late-night snack.
The endless scroll.
Planning doesn’t guarantee that every day will go perfectly.
It simply helps us make intentional choices before we’re in the moment when old habits are most likely to take over.
So instead of waiting until August 1st to figure it out, we’re using these two days to prepare our environment, our schedule, and our mindset.
Part One: Prepare for 31 Days of No Junk Food
This challenge isn’t about labeling yourself as “good” or “bad” based on what you eat.
It’s about becoming more aware of what you’re putting into your body and making room for foods and habits that support the way you want to feel.
Start planning your meals.
Think about the meals you actually enjoy.
What can you prepare ahead of time?
What can you keep available when you’re busy?
Stock your kitchen.
Make your grocery list.
Choose nourishing foods that are easy to reach for when you’re hungry.
Preparation removes some of the decision fatigue that can make healthy choices harder.
Hydrate.
Keep your water bottle nearby.
Make hydration easy.
Think ahead.
Look at the next few days.
Where are you likely to be tempted by convenience?
What situations might make your plan harder?
Prepare for those moments now.
Part Two: Prepare for the 7-Day Digital Detox
The first seven days of August are also an invitation to step back from digital overload.
We’re looking at:
Phones.
Wearables.
Social media.
Online shopping.
Unnecessary notifications.
The goal isn’t to completely disconnect from the modern world.
It’s to become more intentional about what gets your attention.
Ask yourself:
What digital habits leave me feeling better?
And:
Which ones leave me feeling drained, distracted, or disconnected?
Create Your Digital Boundaries
Before August 1st:
Turn off unnecessary notifications.
Decide when you’re putting your phone away.
Choose technology-free times.
Create spaces where your devices don’t come with you.
And consider what you want to stop doing automatically.
Maybe it’s checking your phone the moment you wake up.
Maybe it’s scrolling while eating.
Maybe it’s online shopping when you’re bored.
Maybe it’s reaching for your phone every time you feel uncomfortable.
We’re not trying to create another set of rules.
We’re creating awareness.
Tonight’s 15-Minute Preparation
You don’t need an elaborate plan.
Set aside 15 minutes tonight.
✅ Plan your meals
Know what you’re eating tomorrow.
✅ Make your grocery list
Get what you need before the challenge begins.
✅ Prep what you can
Wash, portion, organize, and prepare.
✅ Set your digital boundaries
Turn off notifications and decide when your phone goes away.
✅ Write down your WHY
Why are you doing this?
More energy?
More presence?
Better habits?
A clearer mind?
A healthier relationship with yourself?
Write it down.
Your “why” becomes especially important on the days when motivation disappears.
We’re Making Room
This August isn’t only about removing things.
It’s about asking:
What can I make room for?
More energy.
More rest.
More movement.
More presence.
More connection.
More creativity.
More peace.
More time with the people you love.
More awareness of what your body and mind are actually asking for.
When we release some of the clutter, we create room for something new.
And Remember: You Don’t Have to Be Perfect
There may be a difficult day.
You may make a choice that doesn’t align with your plan.
You may scroll longer than you intended.
You may have a moment where you think, “Forget it.”
That’s not failure.
That’s being human.
Notice it.
Learn from it.
Return to your intention.
Begin again.
One choice at a time.
Your August Intention
Before you go to bed tonight, finish this sentence:
“This August, I am making room for __________.”
Write your answer somewhere you’ll see it.
Let it remind you why you started.
Tomorrow We Prepare.
August 1st, We Begin.
31 days.
7 days of digital detox.
One community.
One intentional choice at a time.
Reset. Refuel. Reclaim.
And remember:
You are more powerful than you know.
